Camping Car!!

It was the twins 6th birthday..  I gave them some aussie soft toys.. a kangaroo and an kolal.. cant go wrong with that.. it was a great day the whole family was there..

2 days later… yet again early in the morning.. we set off in the good old camping car.. and yes i do mean it when i say old!  We travelled to Bujaleuf haute Vienne which is 300km from Angers.. it was a beautiful lake.. and wow was it green. we stayed in a caravan park.. set up camp and went swimming.. there were loads of englis people around.. and i mean like everywhere.. I rode into town with my host dad to buy some supplies.. i got mattress thingo for the lake.. to bad it had a huge hole and kept deflating i was shattered!!

th first night there was a thunder storm.. (i had my host sister waking me up asking me to hold her hand, she doesnt really love storms.) and just our luck the tent mattress deflated completely.. lovely to wake up on the ground!! arrgh it was gay!

Spent the entire day swimming the lake was just beautiful and i really mean it..

next off we were headed to Lac de Vassiviere just 30km’s away.. it was also just as beautiful… wonderful sunny day.. that night it poured.. and i mean it didnt stop.. Laura couldnt understand why i just kept sleeping throught it.. she said the lightening was gonna get us.. and i just dozed right back to sleep..

next day was over cast so no swimming my host dad asked if i wanted to go for a bike ride (his into all this fitness stuff) he said it was just 3km… well turns out.. it was actually 14km each way.. i have to admit thought the sights were amazing riding where the tour de france does and just the beauty of it all it was just so green everything was green the forests were so pretty i just loved it.. until we started riding home and it poured… we got drenched… and the showers had run out of hot water.. tough i know.. but i managed..

It was kinda like camping back at the Murry or Goulburn.. good times.

Next place was.. the village of Sarlat 170km we travelled that day.. we stayed in this caravan park.. and walked yes i mean it walked the next day 30km to and from town.. OMG OMG though the town was just so cute.. old as anything with beauitful buildings and there was a huge market on which we spent all day in..

we hadnt had a BBQ the whole trip.. so on our walk home we spotted the hardware store.. and yes we did.. we brought a BBQ the smallest bloody ripper BBQ i have ever seen… its so cute.. i’m trying to figure out how to sneak it home.. so far the best way to go is to say its my handbag as its that bloody smaill..

So so cool!!!

Next we left for Limeuil.. a village by the river on a hill… a hill which Laura and i climed to the top of.. talk about a view.. its was incredible.. well worth the effort.. and besides rnning down the hill was alot of fun.. the current of the 2 joining rivers was so strong it would take you down stream.. it wasnt a river of sand but stones.. about the sizes of shoe.. rather hard on your feet.. in the park we stayed in there were english people, dutch people and even Irish people… I have to say I of course was the only AUSSIE!

Had awesome Duck in this lace it was delisious!

I rode with my host dad again to the next village for food.. it was bloody ages away!! I dont think ‘ve every done so many kilometres in a week..(not on a bike anyways) after we then again rode (finally my host sis decided to move her butt) to the stables to book a 2 hour trail ride the next day..

and i have to say that night.. it RAINED yet again.. france has a ig thing for raining in summer.. we went canoeing that morninf.. it was so beautiful the river the serenity (now you reall cant explain that to the french it just doesnt work) My host dad and sis we’re practically i a race to finish.. me on the other hand didnt see why we couldnt just go with the flow.. but face it the french dont do that..

I had BBQ boudin for lunch (well tried it) its bolided pigs blood in a sauage not to great but i reckon theres worse. That night rode ur bikes to the stable tacked up the horse’s and we were off..

they told me mine was fast but bloody hell.. try ducking trees, pulling up your horse, watch were your going and not hit anyone.. it was effort.. we rode through forests, paddocks, along road sides, in corn fields.. it was going great.. until we were galloping and the horse in front of mine.. bucked and its hoof cut my horse’s face open.. and well as you can imaine it didnt like that one bit went nuts and I less than gracefully landed smack bang on the ground.. NO TEARS.. but **** it hurt.. but i got right back on a went galloped again and went across the river so COOL!!! But i have to say i was in pain..

Dont stress i didnt break anything just did major bursing to my hip and butt.. i couldnt walk for an entire week.. i hobbled about like an idiot!!

Since it was still raining, and i was injured we went back to Angers it was a 400km drive..

in all my camoing car holiday was awesome, i didnt go to well know places but they were beautiful, i enjoyed the simple life and got to see stars. i loved it.. also i only spoke french 2 weeks straigh hehe
